Flashing your clock

I was digging through some old, unfinished self-initiated projects looking for some inspiration when I found this…

Pretty little clock, but the code was a bit rubbish and I’ve learned a lot about ActionScript since then so I decided to write myself an AS2.0 Clock class. Granted, Flash clock scripts are ten a penny on the net but seldom are they very good, and to be honest I just wanted my own. Here is the result in a fairly bare visual form…

Functionally, much better and more extendible. Little series of fun clocks on the horizon, I think.

Some packshots of Lovespirals’ new album, ‘Future Past’

Anji Bee of Lovespirals has just posted up some of the first shots of their new 100% recycled digipack CD album, Future Past. I’ll add some of my own as soon as my copy arrives in the post.

A Drawing A Day #5

Next in the increasingly disingenuously titled series, this is the least interesting aspect of the room that I am stuck in for most of the day.

Packshots of Blu Mar Ten’s ‘Natural History’

Copies of Blu Mar Ten‘s new album ‘Natural History’ finally arrived, so I’ve added these pics to the rest of the work I have done for them.

The CD comes in a card sleeve and includes a 6 page roll-fold booklet and one art card, while the double vinyl comes with printed inner-sleeves and an A1 poster.

Artwork for the new Lovespirals album, ‘Future Past’

I just (actually last week) delivered the artwork for Californian ‘dreamy electro-acoustic indie pop’ band Lovespirals‘ fourth studio Album, entitled Future Past.

Lovespirals - Future Past

The artwork for the 6-panel digipack is made up from a mixture of hand rendered and digital type set alongside the photography of Susan Jennings.

Eco-friendly Lovespirals naturally insisted on green (not just the colour) packaging; the digipack is printed on 100% recycled stock with 100% recycled plastic trays, printed with vegetable-based inks and coated with water-based biodegradable varnishes, provided by Groove House Manufacturing in California.

Packshots as soon as I get the finished article.

A Drawing A Day #4

I quite rightly got chinned by one of my friends down the pub last night for stalling on this project. Here’s a scribble I did there and then on the bar, of the gantry of all things (I had, naturally, had a drink).

A Drawing A Day 30/10/09

It’s not that I don’t draw every day — I usually do for one reason or another — but this project is intended to be a series of little drawings that exist only for themselves, little spaces outside of any other thinking, even if they are just a one-line scribbles (see above). It’s making the time away from working that I’m not very good at. So to make amends not only am I going to attempt to get a drawing up every day (I won’t manage to upload every day but there should be a drawing per day),  I’m going to do one for all the days I’ve missed too. If I’m falling behind, please have a go at me. Lies.

Video titles for Blu Mar Ten’s ‘Natural History’ Youtube album preview (updated)

I’ve just made these video titles for Blu Mar Ten’s Youtube album preview, including a little non-narrative montage of some of the album artwork. It’s based on a full video promo for one of the tracks which is in progress now and should be coming in the next few weeks.

Now I’ve got about a week’s worth of A drawing A Day to catch up on…

Update 27/10/09

I’ve just been informed by Chris Blu Mar Ten that this video has received 2 ‘Honors’ on YouTube; one for being the the 75th most viewed in the United Kingdom and, perhaps bizarrely, another being the 81st most viewed music video in Russia. I’m not entirely sure what to make of that — and it’s all down to Blu Mar Ten’s popularity, make no mistake — but I think that’s good going. It’s certainly received over 1200 views in under 48 hours. I’m happy with that.
