Flashing your clock

I was digging through some old, unfinished self-initiated projects looking for some inspiration when I found this…

Get Adobe Flash player

Pretty little clock, but the code was a bit rubbish and I’ve learned a lot about ActionScript since then so I decided to write myself an AS2.0 Clock class. Granted, Flash clock scripts are ten a penny on the net but seldom are they very good, and to be honest I just wanted my own. Here is the result in a fairly bare visual form…

Functionally, much better and more extendible. Little series of fun clocks on the horizon, I think.

…and in the lead up to the launch of his single on Med School featured in the previous post, Bop’s official website should be live today not long after I’ve posted this.

New website for Fireworks Ceramics Studio

I’ve just created a new website for the long running Fireworks Ceramics Studio here in Glasgow. Fireworks had a very limited budget, so I used a modified version of the site I created for Blu Mar Ten to meet their requirements.

Fireworks didn’t really have a visual identity so I also created a simple logotype using ITC Lubalin for the site.

Shielagh Tacey Hand Woven Textiles featured on LG blog

Shielagh Tacey Hand Woven Textiles, whose logo and website I designed, was featured on the LG blog today:

“On the hunt for lovely and original gifts I stumbled across Shielagh Tacey, an artist and designer living and working in Glasgow, Scotland who makes unique hand woven textile products using a traditional wooden floor loom.

Her products range from cushions to scarves to iPod covers. According to her site everything she produces is a unique, one-off item and she also makes items to customers particular requirements.”

Blu Mar Ten — new identity and website.

I’ve created a new visual identity for Blu Mar Ten in the run up to the release of their new album and carried this through into a new website.

The logo is a hand rendering of Clarendon.

Blu Mar Ten wanted a visually pared-down website that they could keep updated themselves and use as a blogging and podcasting platform; WordPress was ideal to build the site upon.

The website includes visitor tracking and statistical analysis, search engine optimisation, and integrates with social networks, inluding Ping.fm, DandyID, Twitter and Last.fm.
