Blu Mar Ten have just announced the release of their Natural History Remixes: Part 1, which I created the artwork for.

The vinyl features reworkings by Seba and Bop, while the digital download features an additional remix by the wonderful Badmammal from San Francisco.

For the build up to the release, Blu Mar Ten also asked me to create some animated titles and visuals for the Youtube previews of the tracks.

Part 2 in the series will be announced in the coming month.

Flashing your clock

I was digging through some old, unfinished self-initiated projects looking for some inspiration when I found this…

Pretty little clock, but the code was a bit rubbish and I’ve learned a lot about ActionScript since then so I decided to write myself an AS2.0 Clock class. Granted, Flash clock scripts are ten a penny on the net but seldom are they very good, and to be honest I just wanted my own. Here is the result in a fairly bare visual form…

Functionally, much better and more extendible. Little series of fun clocks on the horizon, I think.

Video titles for Blu Mar Ten’s ‘Natural History’ Youtube album preview (updated)

I’ve just made these video titles for Blu Mar Ten’s Youtube album preview, including a little non-narrative montage of some of the album artwork. It’s based on a full video promo for one of the tracks which is in progress now and should be coming in the next few weeks.

Now I’ve got about a week’s worth of A drawing A Day to catch up on…

Update 27/10/09

I’ve just been informed by Chris Blu Mar Ten that this video has received 2 ‘Honors’ on YouTube; one for being the the 75th most viewed in the United Kingdom and, perhaps bizarrely, another being the 81st most viewed music video in Russia. I’m not entirely sure what to make of that — and it’s all down to Blu Mar Ten’s popularity, make no mistake — but I think that’s good going. It’s certainly received over 1200 views in under 48 hours. I’m happy with that.
